At Crime Stoppers we believe it is very important to help school students to understand the impact of crime and feel empowered to be good citizens in their community.
That’s why we’ve developed some great teacher resources for the broad learning area of civics and citizenship for students in Years 7, 8 and 9. This material has been developed by curriculum specialists and approved by the Department of Education. Schools have been using these modules for several years.
Each module contains 10 lesson plans with an outline of each lesson’s connections to the Australian curriculum as well as many resources and classroom activities.
The modules, lessons and resources are all available here online;
- Year 7 – Exploring and understanding citizenship
- Year 8 – Valuing our democratic society
- Year 9 – Our community: my responsibility
