Around 9.30pm on Saturday 28 July 2018, two men were waiting to cross the road at the intersection of Newcastle Street and William Street Northbridge.

A group of males walked across the road before the lights changed and walked towards the men.  As the group walked past, one of the men punched the victim in the face causing a large laceration above his eye. The victim went straight to hospital where he was treated for his injury.

No words were exchanged between the parties in what was an unprovoked attack when the victim was not expecting it.

Police have released a CCTV image of five men who they believe may be able to assist them with their investigation.

The man who threw the punch is described as:  Light skinned, 20-25 years of age, approximately 165cm tall, thin build with short brown hair and facial hair.  He was wearing a check shirt over a t-shirt and blue jeans.
