Around 4.15pm on Friday 4 October 2019, a male entered a tool store on Great Eastern Highway in possession of a bag and walked to a Dewalt tool display. He used a knife that was in his possession to remove a high impact torque wrench from a box. After discovering that the tool was too large for his bag, he left the tool inside the store.
The man walked to a nearby hardware store, He forced open a glass cabinet holding Dewalt tools and removed a high impact torque wrench and an angle grinder. He then attempted to leave the store without paying for the items. Staff members approached him and were able to recover the items. The man was seen getting into what is believed to be a white Mitsubishi Pajero and left the area.
Police have released a CCTV image of a man who they believe may be able to assist them with their investigation.
The man is described as: Light skinned, around 25 – 30 years of age, short dark hair, facial hair and a medium build. He was wearing a light-coloured peaked cap, yellow and blue Hi-Viz top and long blue pants. He has multiple tattoos on his right arm and left hand.
