Information from concerned community members helps Northam police charge drug dealers
Community information leads to drug charges
During October 2017, detectives and officers from the Northam Police Station conducted a localised operation to target the sale and supply of illicit drugs.
As a direct result of community members contacting Crime Stoppers to report suspicious behaviour and drug related activity, five search warrants were executed in the Northam area resulting in 13 people being charged with 39 offences. These offences included possession of prohibited drugs with intent to sell or supply, possession of a prohibited weapon and unlicensed ammunition and driving under the influence of an illicit drug.
“Thank you to members of the community who provided us with information in relation to drugs and I encourage them to continue to do so. The information provided to Crime Stoppers is valued and appreciated” said Detective Sergeant Pymm, Northam Police Station.
