Albany Detectives are requesting information regarding the male pictured, who may assist with an ongoing fraud investigation.
Between January and December 2024, the victim was contacted by an individual claiming to be a government officer employed by the Australian Cyber Security Centre (ACSC).
The victim was misled into installing remote access software onto their computer and transferred funds into a savings account. Subsequent contact led to an in-person meeting where further amounts of cash and gift cards were exchanged. Throughout the process, the victim was encouraged to have cover stories and not to alert their bank of the interaction.
Anyone with information regarding the identity of this person is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or to make a report online at www.crimestopperswa.com.au
