Cannington Detectives are seeking public assistance for information as they investigate an incident that occurred in St James on Saturday, 14 March 2026.
About 12.15am, the victim, a 34-year-old man, was confronted by an unknown male outside a residence on Walpole Street.

During the confrontation, the victim was threatened with an edged weapon and personal items were stolen. No injuries were reported.

The suspect then returned to a vehicle of interest – a red Jeep Grand Cherokee bearing Queensland registration plates 326WIG – last seen driving southwest on Walpole Street towards Chapman Road. The Jeep had a damaged rear right passenger window and a large, white sticker on the same side.

The suspect is described as Caucasian, 170 to 180 centimetres tall, aged 35 to 45, with a gaunt face and a ‘scraggly’ beard. He was wearing a black or dark coloured hooded top and long pants.
