Rockingham Detectives are seeking public assistance for information as they continue to investigate an incident that occurred at the Rockingham Foreshore on Friday, 5 December 2025.

About 9.10pm, the victim – a 34-year-old man – was at the foreshore with his partner for the activation of the Christmas lights.

He became involved in a verbal altercation with several youths in relation to their behaviour. As he attempted to de-escalate the situation and leave the area, he was struck to the face by one of the youths.

The victim sustained serious facial injuries and was treated at Rockingham Hospital.

The investigation is ongoing and detectives wish to speak with members of the public who were in the area at the time of the incident, particularly anyone who saw a male, approximately 16 years old, wearing a grey Nike hoodie and black shorts.
