Regional Investigations Unit detectives are seeking information regarding an attempted armed robbery incident at a supermarket in East Perth on Saturday 20 July 2019.

 

About 11:30pm a man entered the supermarket on Adelaide Terrace and approached the counter. He threatened a staff member with a knife and demanded cash. The staff member refused to hand over any cash and the offender left the store empty-handed.

 

A short time later a man matching the description of this offender approached a group of women at Elizabeth Quay and demanded money. He was armed with a knife at the time, and the women, fearing for their safety, provided the man with a small amount of money.

 

Police have released a CCTV image of a man who they believe may be able to assist them with their investigation.

 

The man is described as fair skinned, aged in his 30’s or 40’s, and was wearing a grey hooded jumper and dark sunglasses.
