Around 11.30am on Monday 10 December 2018, a man gained entry to a house on Judge Avenue Claremont by forcing his way inside. The occupant of the house was home and called police. The man left the house by jumping over a rear fence and left the area. A subsequent check of CCTV in the area showed that the man was seen getting onto a train at the nearby Loch Street Train Station.

During the burglary, a number of presents were ripped open that were under the Christmas tree.

The man is described as dark skinned, medium build, short dark hair with tattoos on his neck and legs. He was wearing a black top and shorts as well as runners. He used some striped material to cover his face during the burglary.
