Around 6am on Sunday 19 July 2020, a man in his 60’s was riding his bike alongside the Swan River and decided to stop on Roger Mackay Drive in Burswood to stretch. He approached a bench opposite another bench where a man was lying down. The man on the bench got up and approached the victim, punching him to the face twice and grabbing a gold chain around his neck. The man was last seen walking onto Matagarup Bridge towards East Perth.

 

Police have released CCTV images of a man who they believe may be able to assist them with their investigation.

 

The man is described as: Around 25 years of age, light brown skinned, thin/medium build and short dark hair. He was wearing a black jacket, long dark pants and carrying a black shoulder bag.

 

Anyone who was in the area around the time of the incident are asked to contact Crime Stoppers.
