Regional Investigations Unit detectives are investigating an armed robbery that occurred about 8.30pm last night, 16 June 2019 in Belmont.

A man armed with a knife entered a service station located on Great Eastern Highway and threatened a staff member, demanding cash.

The man fled on foot with a sum of cash and was last seen running down an alleyway between Epsom Avenue and Leake Street in Belmont.

The offender is described as approximately 170cms tall, with a medium build, olive skin, and black hair.  He was wearing a dark coloured hooded top and blue jeans.

Detectives would like to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time who may have seen the man.  Any motorists who were in the area around the above time or has dash-cam vision is asked to come forward.
