At around 2.00pm on Monday 17 August a man witnessed a woman being verbally abusive to an elderly woman on a bus travelling towards Perth. A woman sitting towards the back of the bus was allegedly yelling abuse towards a woman sat near the front of the bus. The elderly woman was not responding.

The man asked the woman sitting at the back of the bus to calm down, sensing the elderly woman was very frightened.

In response to the request the woman has hit the man in the face with a full premixed can of alcohol. The force of the blow has split the man’s lip and caused bleeding.

Police have released a CCTV image of a woman who they believe may be able to assist them with their investigation.

If you have any information about the identity of this woman or details of this offence please contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or report online at You can remain anonymous if you wish and rewards are available once charges are laid.   Please quote Reference Number 9750
