At around 11.35am on Sunday 11 July 2021, the elderly victim was throwing a ball for his dog on Leighton Beach in North Fremantle when another dog on the beach picked up the victim’s ball. The victim approached the other dog to get his ball back and after a while the other dog dropped the ball on the sand. As the victim was picking up the ball an unknown man pushed the victim over onto the sand. Bystanders intervened to protect the victim and the man walked off with the other dog.

Police have released images of a man who they believe may be able to assist them with their investigation.

The man is described as: light skinned, slim build, between 35 to 45 years of age, short black hair with a thin black beard and moustache.
