Around 1.30am on Saturday 20 March 2021 a man climbed over a fence into the car park of a backpackers on Murray Street in Perth.

The man was approached by residents of the backpackers. While in conversation with the residents, the man struck a male resident to the face with a metal object. The man was chased by other residents and exited the car park by climbing back over the fence.

The victim received treatment at hospital for bruising and a small cut to his cheek.

Police have released a CCTV image of a man who they believe may be able to assist them with their investigation.

The man is described as: slim build, with short black hair and olive skinned. He was wearing a blue long sleeved top, black long trousers and black sneakers.
