At around 8.05pm on Saturday 5 August 2023, the victim in company with a woman boarded a bus after watching a sporting event at the Optus Stadium. A few minutes into the journey a man sitting on his own across the aisle from the victim started up a conversation with the victim in an aggressive manner. The bus was travelling along Roger Mackay Drive in Burswood when the man suddenly stood up and punched the victim a few times to his head before other passengers pulled the man away.

Police have released CCTV images of a man who they believe may be able to assist with their investigation.

The man is described as: tan skinned, large build, between 40 to 50 years of age, bald head with a black beard, moustache and sleeve tattoo on his right arm. He was wearing a blue and white sports jumper with sunglasses on top of his head.
