At around 4.30pm on Wednesday 9 June 2021, the victim was walking along the footpath on Scarborough Beach Road in Innaloo when he noticed a man running towards him on the footpath. As the man was about to pass the victim, the man veered into the path of the victim knocking the victim to the ground. Whilst the victim was on the ground the man began punching the victim to the head and body.

Only when members of the public intervened did the man stop punching the victim and walk away.

The victim was conveyed to hospital and treated for cuts and bruises.

Police have released a CCTV image of a man who they believe may be able to assist them with their investigation.

The man is described as: light skinned, medium build, between 25 to 35 years of age with an unshaven appearance. He was wearing a black collared shirt, shorts with thin vertical stripes and a dark coloured beanie.
