At around 12:30 on Thursday 27 October 2022, a man approached a house on Manning Street in Scarborough. The man placed a shopping bag in the carport, where he proceeded to walk through the backyard and into an unlocked granny flat. The man rummaged through the granny flat and took numerous items, including a laptop. The man left the house shortly afterwards, leaving his bag in the carport.

Police have released CCTV images of a man who they believe may be able to assist them with their investigation.

The man is described as: average height, slim, light skinned with a beard and light grey hair. The man was wearing black and white slides, grey track pants, a blue t shirt and was carrying a dark hoodie and a shopping bag.
