Around 2am on Tuesday 13 August 2019, a car was broken into on Jillman Way Ferndale. Inside the vehicle was a wallet containing a credit card and a small amount of cash which were stolen.
A short time later, around 2.40am, a man entered a service station on Albany Highway Cannington and used the stolen credit card to fraudulently purchase items. The card was used between Cannington and Bentley over the next hour at several locations for an amount in excess of $300.
Police have released a CCTV image of a man who they believe may be able to assist them with their investigation.
The man is described as: Light skinned, around 30 years of age, thin/medium build, short curly dark hair and unshaven. He was wearing a black and grey hooded top and long dark pants.
