Between 5:30pm and 7:00pm on Sunday 16 August 2020, a purse belonging to a woman in her 60s was stolen from her walking frame. The retiree had been spending the evening with her daughter in Burswood when the incident occurred. CCTV footage revealed a man take the wallet from the victim’s bag while she was not looking and head to the restroom. When the restroom was checked the man and the wallet were no longer there. In the space of 26 minutes the thief has made nine transactions at pharmacies and supermarkets in the Burswood area. In total over $1000 in unauthorised purchases were made before the card was cancelled.
Police have released a CCTV image of a man who they believe may be able to assist them with their investigation.
The man is described as: Light skinned, average build, with short dark hair and a receding hair line. He wore a brown shirt, dark grey hooded jumper, light jeans and grey sports shoes.
