Circumstances

 

Cheryl Hawking was the mother of a five year old son and was three months pregnant at the time of her disappearance.

 

Cheryl engaged in long solitary walks around the perimeter of the Haig settlement as a form of recreation.

 

At 3pm on 19 September 1979, Cheryl was last seen leaving the settlement to commence one of these walks however she failed to return.
