A man has been charged with stealing. Thank you!

Around 2.30pm on Wednesday 28th October the elderly victim (a man in his 80’s) attended a shopping area, situated on the corner of Cranford Avenue and Moolyeen Road Mt Pleasant. As the victim left a shop, a male approached him and attempted to snatch the victim’s wallet from his hand, causing the wallet to land on the ground. The victim picked up his wallet and attempted to protect himself, before he was assaulted by the male.

Members of the public came to the aid of the elderly victim and the male left the scene in a vehicle.

Police have released a CCTV image of a man who they believe may be able to assist them with their investigation.

The man is described as: Light skinned, 20-25 years of age, thin build wearing a black baseball cap, blue t-shirt, long navy-blue shorts and black socks.
