UPDATE: Sex Assault Squad detectives have charged a 28-year-old man as a result of their extensive investigation into a sexual assault that occurred in Mullaloo on 24 December 2018.

It will be alleged around 5am, a woman in her 40s was walking along the shared pathway adjacent to Mullaloo Beach and approximately 300 metres north of Mullaloo Beach (North) car park the man who was naked, grabbed her from behind and dragged her to the ground and sexually assaulted her.

The 28-year-old man from Eglington has been charged with Sexual Penetration without Consent. He is due to appear before the Joondalup Magistrates Court today, 21 February 2019.

Detectives would like to thank the community for their assistance during this investigation.

Sex Assault Squad detectives are investigating an incident that occurred in Mullaloo in the early hours of this morning, 24 December 2018, in which a woman was sexually assaulted.

Around 5am, a woman in her 40s was walking along the shared pathway adjacent to Mullaloo Beach. Approximately 300 metres north of Mullaloo Beach (North) car park, an unknown naked man grabbed her from behind and dragged her down to the ground and sexually assaulted her. He then fled on foot and was last seen running south.

The offender is described as being 18 to 25-years-old, with brown skin, an athletic build (fit/toned not overly muscular), clean shaven and short brown hair.

Detectives would like to speak to anyone who was in the area who may have seen the man.
