At around 11.55am on Thursday 6 October 2022, a man hired a Toyota Camry from a car hire company on Welshpool Road in Welshpool using false identification. On 19 October the Toyota Camry was advertised on Gumtree with rego plates stolen from another Toyota Camry. The stolen Camry was sold to a person who discovered the Camry was stolen and contacted police.

Police have released images of a man who they believe may be able to assist them with their investigation.

The man is described as: tan skinned, medium build, between 40 to 50 years of age, balding shaved head with a beard and moustache. He was wearing a white t-shirt.
