Around 7.45pm on Wednesday 17 July 2019, a woman in her 60’s had completed her grocery shopping at a supermarket on Albany Highway East Victoria Park and pushed her shopping trolley out of the store.

A woman, who was unknown to the victim, approached her in a very friendly way saying hello. She walked with the victim away from the store and into the carpark. As the victim began to place her grocery items inside her boot, the woman gave the victim several large hugs saying she loved her. The victim had her handbag in front of her with the straps around her neck.

Inside the handbag was her purse. When the victim returned home, she discovered that her purse was missing.

Police have released a CCTV image of a woman who they believe may be able to assist them with their investigation.

The woman is described as: Light skinned, around 40 years of age, thin/medium build with dark hair. She was wearing a light-coloured jumper, long dark track pants and carrying a light-coloured hand bag.
