At around 11.00pm on Thursday 19 September 2024, when the victim went to make payment at the external service counter at a petrol station on Beaufort Street in Highgate, he placed his mobile phone down on the counter. After making payment the victim forgot his mobile phone and left the station. A few minutes later a man is seen on CCTV take the phone when making payment at the same counter and place it in his jumper pocket.

Police have released CCTV images of a man who they believe may be able to assist with their investigation.

The man is described as: white skinned, slim build, between 30 to 35 years of age with brown shoulder length curly hair and small goatee. He was wearing a white hooded jumper, grey pants, black and orange shoes with a dark grey cap.
