At around 08.50am on Monday 1 August 2022, the victim was exiting a shopping centre on Benara Road in Noranda, when she dropped her phone wallet onto the ground without realising it. Moments later a man is seen on CCTV pick up the victim’s wallet, remove cash from the wallet and place the cash in his pocket before dropping the phone wallet into a nearby trolley. The phone wallet with phone was handed in by another shopper.

Police have released CCTV images of a man who they believe may be able to assist them with their investigation.

The man is described as: light skinned, medium build, between 30 to 40 years of age with a reddish brown beard and moustache. He was wearing a blue ‘Everlast’ hooded jumper, black sports shorts with black shoes.
