Update! A 40 year old woman from Girrawheen has been charged with stealing. Thank you for all the information received at Crime Stoppers from members of the community who saw the CCTV that was released.

Around 12.30pm on Thursday 21 February 2019, a 98 year old woman was shopping in a supermarket on Cantonment Street Fremantle when she lent away from her trolley to remove an item from a shelf in the fridge section. At that exact moment, a woman reached into the lady’s trolley and removed a purse out of the handbag.

Police have released CCTV images of a woman and man who they believe may be able to assist them with their investigation.

The woman is described as: Brown skinned, medium build and wavy dark hair. She was wearing a white t-shirt, light coloured long pants and wearing a hat.

The man is described as: Light skinned, medium build and dark short hair. He was wearing a blue t-shirt with white writing on the front and carrying a green bag.
