At around 4.15pm on Friday 15 December 2023, the victim walked away from the checkout inside a grocery store on Marmion Avenue in Hillarys, forgetting her mobile on the counter top. The next customer who was a man took the victims spot at the checkout and after paying for his groceries, picked up his groceries and the victim’s mobile, walking and away with the victim’s mobile.
Police have released CCTV images of a man who they believe may be able to assist with their investigation.
The man is described as: white skinned, slim build, between 35 to 40 years of age with red hair, beard and moustache. He was wearing a t-shirt, dark coloured knee length shorts, sliders with a black cap, sunglasses and carried a black backpack.
