At around 5.15pm on Monday 25 March 2024, the victim was standing at a checkout counter inside a hardware store on Patterson Road in Rockingham. When it was his turn to be served, the victim placed $100 cash on the counter and engaged with the checkout operator about the product he was purchasing. When the victim was asked to make payment, he discovered the $100 cash had been taken from behind him.

Police have released CCTV images of a man who they believe may be able to assist with their investigation.

The man is described as: light skinned, slim build, between 50 to 60 years of age with a grey beard, moustache and sleeve tattoo visible on his left arm. He was wearing a black and white t-shirt, beige trousers, black sneakers, beige cap, sunglasses and carried a black shoulder bag. The man is believed to have arrived at the store on a motorcycle.
