Canning Vale Police are seeking the public’s assistance for information to assist with a stealing investigation that occurred in Thornlie on Thursday, 17 July 2025.
Around 2.20pm, an unknown person on a white mountain bike was sitting outside a shopping centre on Spencer Road. The victim had loaded her shopping into the back seat of her car in the car park and was preparing to leave when the rider approached, opened the door and stole her handbag before riding off.
The male is described as being of slim build and dressed in all black clothing. They were wearing a black motocross helmet with black gloves, a black hoodie jumper, black track pants with white stripes down the sides and black and white striped slider sandals. They also wore a distinctive dark coloured backpack with a cartoon giraffe on the back pocket.
Anyone with any information in relation to the identity of the person responsible, or any dash camera or CCTV footage from the area around the time of the incident is asked to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or make a report online at www.crimestopperswa.com.au
