The success of Operation Heat Shield was driven by the community contacting Crime Stoppers.
Community confidence and safer streets can be found around the Cannington District, thanks to members of the public providing information and WA Police taking action.
Operation Heat Shield ran for several months in the Cannington District, targeting high harm property and drug locations within the district.
After reviewing intelligence reports, which were predominantly Crime Stoppers reports, police officers executed over 45 search warrants, with some significant seizures resulting directly from that Crime Stoppers information.
One seizure netted 620 grams of MDMA (with a value in excess of $200K), other cash seizures, firearms, weapons and stolen property in excess of $300k.
The success of Operation Heat Shield was driven by the community contacting Crime Stoppers.
This has reduced aspects of crime and increased WA Police intelligence holdings and community confidence.
Acting Inspector Doug Stjepic said “It is always pleasing to see members of the public approach my team after a warrant is executed and say thank you” and make comments like “I have been calling for months about this place”.
