At around 9.34am on Thursday 14 November 2024, a man approached a house on Mount Street in Darlington. He searched the carport and entered the backyard through the side gate. He attempted to force entry into the master bedroom via the window. When his attempts failed, he fled the scene. When the victim returned home later that afternoon, they found the flyscreen had been taken off the window.

Police have released CCTV images of the man who they believe may be able to assist with their investigation.

The man is described as: tanned skinned, medium build with dark hair and facial hair. He was wearing a black Tommy Hilfiger hoodie, black NFL Raiders shorts, grey shoes, black gloves and black head phones around his neck.
