Around 5.40pm on Friday 7 December 2018, a woman was walking along Great Eastern Highway Lathlain near Cornwall Street when a woman grabbed her from behind by her hair, pulling her head backwards. She was repeatedly punched to the back of her head and side of her face before the woman tried to kick her. Whilst doing this, her shoe flew off her foot and landed some distance away.

A witness driving past saw the incident and stopped, allowing the victim to get into the car. As they drove away, the woman struck the vehicle windscreen. The victim sought medical attention for her injuries before reporting the incident to police.

Police have released a CCTV image of a woman who they believe may be able to assist them with their investigation.

The woman is described as: Brown skinned, thin/medium build with dark hair tied up. She was wearing a black top, ripped blue jeans and was carrying a large shoulder bag. She had a tattoo on the front of her left shoulder. She also had a piercing under her right eye.
