Regional Investigations Unit Detectives are investigating two Aggravated Robbery incidents that occurred in Balga and Malaga on Sunday 15 March 2020. Around 5.30pm, a man entered a liquor store on Princess Road Balga. He walked to the fridge area and selected a cube of mixed spirits and went to walk out of the store. A staff member (a male in his 20’s) spoke to him and the male threw the cube of alcohol at him before punching him several times. As a result of the assault on the staff member, he received minor injuries and received medical treatment.
Around 8.30pm, three males entered a service station on Beach Road and waited for a customer to be served and leave the store. One of the men jumped over the counter, grabbed the staff member (a woman aged in her 20’s) around the throat and pushed her into a wall, before taking an amount of cash from the till as well as a number of packets of cigarettes. The men left the area on foot.
