Arson Squad Detectives are continuing their investigation into a fire at a residential address in Midvale on Wednesday 27 November 2018.

Between 11pm and 7am, a container was thrown at the front window of a house on Victoria Parade which was believed to contain accelerant. A fire started and spread causing damage to adjacent rooms before self-extinguishing.

An occupant of the house, a woman in her 80’s heard a loud bang in the early hours of the morning, however went back to sleep. It wasn’t until she woke up later and got out of bed, that she noticed the smoke and fire damage to her house.

The fire caused more than $50,000 worth of damage to the house.

Detectives have released a CCTV image of a vehicle seen in the early hours of the morning in the vicinity of the house.
