At around 5:55pm on Friday 29th January 2021 a woman entered a taxi on Wellington Street in Perth.

 

The woman originally requested to be driven to Karawara but changed her mind multiple times en route.

 

During the journey the woman began rummaging through the centre console and glove box of the vehicle.

 

Without warning the woman struck the taxi driver in the face with a sharp object. The impact caused a cut to the driver’s face and damage to a tooth.

 

The woman attempted to strike the driver again and a struggle ensued.

 

The woman then exited the vehicle and ran away.

 

Police have released a CCTV image of a woman who they believe may be able to assist them with their investigation.

 

The woman is described as: tanned skin, medium build with long dark hair. She wore a red shirt, black shorts and white slides.
