At around 5.30pm on Saturday 12 November 2022, the elderly victim and his wife boarded a bus on South Terrace in Fremantle. A group of teenagers at the rear of the bus who were swearing and shouting were asked by the bus driver to stop. The teenagers continued and the victim asked the teenagers to keep it down. A woman sitting behind the victim on her own started swearing at the victim before striking the victim to the back of his head.

Police have released CCTV images of a woman who they believe may be able to assist them with their investigation.

The woman is described as: tan skinned, slim build, between 30 to 40 years of age with black hair tied up into two buns on top of her head with white bows. She was wearing a navy blue long sleeved shirt, tan coloured trousers, sunglasses with a scarf around her neck.
