Cannington Detectives are seeking assistance with a robbery and series of frauds that occurred between Monday 17 and Tuesday 18 December 2018.

Around 11.00pm, on Monday 17 December, the victim (a woman in her twenties) was walking along Albany Highway near Richmond Street, Cannington when she was approached from behind by a man.

The man grabbed the victim’s handbag, resulting in a scuffle before the victim fell to the ground. The man ran off with the victim’s handbag which contained her purse.

On Tuesday 18 December 2018, a credit card from inside the purse was used to make a number of fraudulent transactions in the Maddington and Victoria Park areas including a taxi ride.

Police have released a CCTV image of a man who they believe may be able to assist them with their investigation.

The man is described as: Brown skinned, 40-50 years of age, medium build and shoulder length grey hair. He was wearing a ‘Lakers’ dark baseball cap and a dark top.
