Around 6.30am on Monday 17 December 2018, a man driving a white Ford utility with a silver tray towing a trailer, pulled up outside a work site located on Swan Street Yokine.

The man gained entry to the building site by damaging some fencing and going to an excavator. The man was able to get it onto the trailer before driving away in the vehicle.

The excavator is described as a yellow and black 2013 Caterpillar Tractor Plant with the registration plate 1EIP701.

Police have released CCTV image of a man who they believe may be able to assist them with their investigation.

The man is described as: Thin build, wearing a dark peaked cap, Hi-Viz top, dark shorts and white runners.
