• Brown skinned.
• 173cm tall.
• Medium build.
• Black hair.
• Brown eyes.
• Scar on right thigh.


Rajnikante Deshpande was an Indian citizen and captain of the Indian registered grain vessel “South Venture”. The vessel was completing a voyage from Korea to Geraldton W.A.

On Friday 4 September 1987 Mr Deshpande was last seen leaving the ship’s bridge at 11.30pm.

The following morning, Mr Deshpande was not located aboard the vessel and he has never been located.
