At around 4.05pm on Saturday 28 December 2024, the victim was sitting down at a bench in a shopping centre on Burslem Drive in Maddington. The victim got up and continued her shopping, accidentally leaving her handbag on the bench. When she returned a few minutes later to collect the bag, she discovered it had been taken. CCTV captured a woman snatching the bag and exiting the shopping centre with it.

Police have released CCTV images of the woman who they believe may be able to assist with their investigation.

The woman is described as: dark skinned, large build with long dark hair. She was wearing a black crop top, black leggings and thongs.
