At around 11.23am on Friday 23 August 2024, a man approached the front service counter of a mobile phone repair store on Flinders Street in Yokine. While speaking with the victim about having his mobile phone repaired, the man suddenly lunged forward and grabbed the victim’s gold chain around his neck and ripped it off. The man ran from the store and jumped onto an e-scooter and rode away before the victim could give chase.

Police have released CCTV images of a man who they believe may be able to assist with their investigation.

The man is described as: brown skinned, slim build, between 30 to 40 years of age with some facial hair. He was wearing a black puffer jacket, black pants with a black cap.
