Between 2.30pm and 3pm on Friday 31 July 2020, a woman in her 50’s was sitting in the Murray Street Mall watching a busker with her handbag at her feet. Over this time, a person has reached into the bag and removed her purse, unbeknown to the woman.
Soon after 3pm, three credit cards from inside the purse were used to fraudulently purchase items worth over $1000 from the Tuart Hill, Rivervale, Burswood and Cannington areas. Some of the items purchased, included cigarettes, alcohol and sporting goods.
Police have released CCTV images of a man who they believe may be able to assist them with their investigation.
The man is described as: Dark skinned, medium build and dark facial hair. He was wearing a baseball cap, black ‘Nike’ hooded top and dark long pants. He has a tattoo on his left hand.
