At around 7.00am on Tuesday 18 January 2022, the victim locked his bicycle inside the secure bike cage at the train station on Spencer Road in Thornlie. As the victim exited the bike cage a man entered the cage before the cage door could close. The man then used a bolt cutter to open the lock and remove the victim’s bicycle and helmet before riding off on the bicycle.
Police have released CCTV images of a man who they believe may be able to assist them with their investigation.
The man is described as: light skinned, slim build, between 30 to 40 years of age with a thin dark beard and moustache. He was wearing a grey T-shirt, grey knee length shorts, white joggers and socks with a dark coloured baseball cap.
