Crime Stoppers Day 2025

Posting isn’t protecting – report where it counts

Our theme for Crime Stoppers Day in 2025 is Don’t Just Post It, Report It – to highlight the cost of posting information online rather than sharing it with authorities.

Social media is deeply woven into our everyday lives. We use it to stay connected, stay informed and speak out. Whether it’s online neighbourhood groups, community pages or group chats, it’s become second nature to share what we see and hear online.

But while social media can help build connected communities, it can also come at a cost – especially when it becomes a substitute for meaningful action.

We urge people who see, hear or suspect criminal or suspicious behaviour to stop leaving vital information in group chats or social media threads – and start reporting it where it truly counts.

Whether it’s a gut feeling, something you saw or something you heard – don’t just talk about it online. Take that extra step and report it to Crime Stoppers. Your post might reach thousands, but your report will see real action.

Feel free to share these videos among your own networks so the right information reaches the right people.

Acknowledgement of Country

We acknowledge the traditional custodians throughout Western Australia and their continuing connection to the land, waters and community. We pay our respects to all members of the Aboriginal communities and their cultures; and to Elders both past and present.

Working Together by DuShong

The artwork titled ‘Working Together’ represents the Aboriginal tribes of Western Australia working together in harmony to rejuvenate the land by controlled fires.

In this artwork it also represents our community today working together to keep our neighbourhood safe from crime.
