At around 5.15pm on Monday 12 December 2022, the victim was seated in a bus travelling along West Coast Drive in Sorrento. The victim asked a group of about eight males at the back of the bus to quieten it down when they became noisy and abusive towards another passenger. A male from the group approached the victim and spat in the victim’s face causing saliva to hit his glasses and enter his mouth. As a result the victim was treated with antibiotics and had blood tests.

Police have released CCTV images of a male who they believe may be able to assist them with their investigation.

The male is described as: brown skinned, slim build, between 18 to 20 years of age. He was wearing a black sleeveless jacket and a black beanie.
