At around 9.30pm on Sunday 8 October 2023, the victim was walking on a footpath alongside bushland on Climping Street in Balga when she was approached by a man. As the man walked past her he grabbed hold of the victim’s handbag. When the victim resisted, the man punched her in the face, threw her to the ground and put one hand tightly around her throat. When the victim let go of her handbag, the man removed most of the items before dropping the handbag and running off.
Police have released composite images of a man who they believe may be able to assist with their investigation.
The man is described as: brown skinned and close to 6 feet or 183cm in height. He was wearing a dark blue Adidas track pants, a long-sleeved top with white runners.
