At around 1.00pm on Wednesday 16 August 2023, the elderly victim was sitting on his own inside a food court on Murray Street in Perth with his small black bag on the bench next to him. A woman sitting behind the victim is seen on CCTV reach around and take the victim’s bag and quickly going through the contents, removing the victim’s mobile, cash and bank card before placing the bag on the floor under the victim’s bench.

Police have released CCTV images of a woman who they believe may be able to assist with their investigation.

The woman is described as: tan skinned, slim build, between 35 to 45 years of age with collar length black hair. She was wearing a pink hooded puffer jacket, black pants, white shoes, black cap and was carrying a black backpack and shopping bag.
